These Terms govern Gemlah's experimental free restaurant-discovery service. Please read them together with the Privacy Notice and Recommendation Disclaimer.

Operator and contact

Gemlah is currently operated by an individual in Malaysia and is not operated as a registered company. Questions, legal notices and issue reports may be sent to gemlahteam@gmail.com. These Terms are written for the current free experimental stage and must be updated before the operator, business model or product scope changes.

Using Gemlah

By accessing or using Gemlah, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service. You must use Gemlah lawfully and must not impersonate another person, interfere with security, scrape or copy provider content, bypass usage limits, submit malicious requests, or use the service to harass or harm another person or business.

What Gemlah provides

Gemlah helps a user narrow a food search to a small set of request-specific restaurant matches using supported information such as the requested dish or restaurant, location and selected distance. Gemlah is responsible for operating its own service and public statements, applying its published policies, and handling personal data as described in the Privacy Notice, subject to these Terms and applicable law.

What Gemlah does not provide

Gemlah currently provides no ordering, booking, payment or delivery service. It is not a restaurant, food seller, delivery provider, Halal certification authority, medical adviser or food-safety authority. Gemlah does not enter into the transaction between a user and a restaurant and does not control a restaurant's food, premises, staff, prices, menu, opening hours, service, availability or legal compliance.

Recommendations and important checks

Recommendations are matches for one request, not guarantees or complete market rankings. They do not certify quality, safety, hygiene, Halal status, allergens, dietary suitability, licensing, value or satisfaction. Distances are straight-line estimates unless stated otherwise. Confirm important and time-sensitive information directly with the restaurant or relevant official authority before travelling, ordering or consuming food. Read the full Recommendation Disclaimer.

Restaurant and third-party information

Restaurant information may come from Google Maps or other identified providers and may be incomplete, delayed or inaccurate. Attribution belongs to the displayed provider. Google Maps content is subject to the Google Maps/Google Earth Additional Terms and Google Terms. External links and services are controlled by their providers, not Gemlah.

No merchant relationship or paid organic ranking

Gemlah does not currently accept payment from restaurants, operate merchant claiming, or allow a restaurant to purchase organic recommendation order. A restaurant's appearance is not an endorsement, partnership, agency relationship or statement that the restaurant approved Gemlah's information. Any future sponsored exposure must be clearly labelled and separated from organic matching.

Accounts, location and fair use

You may decline browser location permission and type an area instead. Guests have up to 3 new searches per Malaysia calendar day. Signed-in accounts have 5 base searches and may explicitly request one additional 5, up to 10 that day. Same-day guest usage remains counted after linking. Unused allowance does not carry over, and shared safety limits may prevent a search even where personal allowance remains.

A reserved attempt may count even if a provider request fails or its response is lost. Showing more choices or another batch from the same candidate pool does not consume a new search; a new query or wider-range search does.

Availability and changes

Gemlah may change, restrict, suspend or discontinue features for testing, maintenance, security, legal, provider or capacity reasons. The service and its information are provided on an “as available” basis. These Terms may change when the service changes; the effective date identifies the applicable public version.

Responsibility and liability

You remain responsible for deciding whether to visit, contact or transact with a restaurant and for checking information important to your health, safety, religious requirements and circumstances. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operator is not responsible for a restaurant's acts or omissions, third-party services, or indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from reliance on changing third-party information. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability or rights that applicable law does not allow to be excluded.

Intellectual property and reports

Gemlah's original name, interface, software and original materials are protected by applicable rights. Provider and restaurant names, marks and content remain their owners' property. If information is incorrect, private, infringing or harmful, use Report an Issue. Receipt or review does not mean Gemlah accepts an allegation or liability.

Applicable law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia, subject to any mandatory rights that apply. Any dispute depends on its specific facts and may require advice from a qualified Malaysian lawyer.
